I have a Comcast account presently. I would like to discontinue and begin using a wireless network that Boston is providing. Currently I am running a cable modem to a D-Link 4100 router that is hard wired to my two computers and at times I plug in my laptop. I also have a VOIP phone from PhonePower. The adapter for this plugs in ahead of my router, or it can be plugged in to the router. I have tried to research some kind of antenna that would have an internet cable to plug into my router in place of the internet cable from my comcast cable modem. However my technical level is not enough to know where to start. It seems antennas like the Hawking just plug into a USB port on a computer. What do I need to set up my system to use ACEVPN on my small home network and for my VOIP phone?

Also, if I am going to try ACEVPN before i commit to buying other hardware, should I just get the Hawking antenna and plug it into my laptop as a test for internet speed on the Boston wireless service?

Thank you in advance for whatever insight you can share.

As long as you have good wireless signal strength you should be ok. You may need to run Acevpn on your router if you plan to connect all your computers and your VOIP phone to the VPN. Make sure the router can run either Tomato or DD-WRT firmware and has at least 16MB RAM (32MB or more preferred) and a powerful CPU to handle data encryption.
