Good Day,

I attempted to use Network-Manager and that was a total failure. After many different attempts and a variety of errors (most were 'no valid secrets'), I abandoned it and tried command line. I'm using the file "acevpn-premium-udp-faster - US.conf" with a single change. The change was to take the password from a file. Here's what I get:

You are getting authentication failure. Did you update the password file with your username and password? Make sure there are no extra spaces. Also both username and password are case-sensitive.

Now that you have openvpn compiled try the network manager again. It might work. It was probably missing some dependencies.

It looks like I was a victim of cut/paste. I re-typed the userid/password and it works now. In fact, the Network-manager configuration is working even though it doesn't appear locked. It's working so well that I had to de-install openvpn to get it to allow my normal connection. There's obviously some strange funnies in Network-Manager.

Anyway, the connection now works and it works extremely well. I'll just have to do a bit of tweaking to make it more convenient.

Thanks,
Bill
